The Outsiders
Chapter 1: They learned not to walk alone if you’re a greaser. Greasers are poor people that the socs beat up. One of the groups that we read about in the chapter consists of pony boy, sodapop, 2-bit, Johnny, and Darry. 2-bit always has to get his 2 cents in the conversation. Pony boy got his cheek cut by the socs while he was walking home. Ponyboy just turned 14. His parents died in a car wreck. Pony boy now lives with his brothers, Darry and Sodapop.
Chapter 2: Two-bit and Dally asked Pony and Johnny to join them at the drive-in, the Nightly Double. They jumped the fence instead of paying because Dally didn’t like to do things the legal way. They sat down behind two girls by the names of Cherry and Marcia. They were socs. Dally started flirting with them but it angered them. Pony and Johnny tried to stop him so he decided to go get all of them a coke. When he offered a coke to Cherry she said she wouldn’t drink it even if her life depended on it, so Dally left. Cherry and Marcia asked Johnny to come and sit with them. Later Two-bit came up behind Johnny and scared him but he sat with them. They decided to stay for the next movie so they could talk to Cherry and Marcia.
Chapter 3: Johnny has a crush on Marcia, and Ponyboy has a crush on Cherry. They met the girls at the movies. The girls had left their boyfriends because they were drunk. Then the boyfriends Randy and Bob showed up. They saw the girls talking to Two-Bit, Johnny, and Ponyboy. So Randy and Bob had picked up Cherry and Marcia in the blue mustang. They got jealous and were planning to fight the gang. Two-Bit had grabbed a blade and busted a bottle and gave it to Ponyboy he wasn’t willing to cut anyone.
Chapter 4: In chapter 4 Ponyboy and Johnny went to the park. It was at 2:30 in the morning and they just wanted a place to relax. Ponyboy had just got in to a major argument with his brother. Once they arrived at the park they noticed the blue mustang that the Socs drive approaching them. They wondered if they should run or not. It was to late the Socs had already gained up on Johnny and Ponyboy. Once they gathered around and started making mean comments to the two young boys, Ponyboy made a smart comment back so one of the Socs started to drown Ponyboy in the park fountain. He wouldn’t let go. Johnny had already been jumped by the Socs before so he was really scared. While panicking he stabbed one of the Socs and killed him, the others ran. Once Ponyboy caught his breath and Johnny wasn’t shocked any more they went to find Dally at one of his friend’s house. They told him what had happened. Dally went in the house brought Ponyboy a change of clothes since his were wet, money and a gun. He told them to leave town since he knew the police would be after them. The place where he told them to go was an old church on a hill somewhere in the country. He told them to stay there and in a few days when everything had calmed down he would come and see them. They had got groceries with the money Dally had gave them. It wasn’t much but they stayed there. They had to keep a low profile because they wanted to be safe.
Chapter 5: Pony boy and Johnny are at Church because they are hiding from the cops because they killed Bob. They had to ride a train, cut their hair, and dye their hair when they got to the Church. Then Johnny went to the store and bought supplies for the next two weeks and Pony boy wanted Pepsi, but Johnny didn’t get any. For the past 4 days they have been bored and so they were reading Gone With the Wind. Then Dallas showed up. Dallas brought Pony boy and Johnny to Dairy Queen. Johnny and Pony boy got barbeque sandwiches and banana splits.
chapter six: In chapter six of The Outsiders, they’re in hiding at a church on top of Jay Mountain. Pony-Boy and Johnny went to the supermarket to get a week s worth of food and to get supplies that they might need. Pony-Boy used peroxide to dye his hair blonde, and they both cut their hair short. Dally came in his car to find them and he decides to take them to Dairy Queen and get them an actual meal. They ate six BBQ sandwiches a piece and four ice cream sundaes. They went back to the church and found a bunch of kids surrounded around the church. Pony-Boy went and talked to one of the teachers and found out that they were on a field trip. One of the teachers came back and said five kids were missing and she thought they were climbing the hill, but they were stuck inside the flaming church. So, Pony-Boy went and busted the window of the church and jumped through it and Johnny was close behind. They walked through the church and went to the back to find five kids screaming in a corner. Johnny told the kids to shut up so he could get them out. When he got the kids they went back outside. Johnny and Pony-Boy were on fire. So Dally slapped Pony in the back to put out the fire. The ambulance came and took them to the hospital. Darry and Soda-Pop met them there. While they were in the hospital the reporters came and tried to interview them.
